Blog/Salary Cap
(1) I think we should use the blog for off-season discussions. Seems easier than deluging each other with e-mails.
(2) I think we need an in-season salary cap to prevent what happened this year. While the league leaders should always be in a "buying" mode and the league losers should be in a "selling" mode, carte blanche fire sales seems unrealistic (with exception of '97-'98 Marlins). Teams should trade 2 solid players for 1 prospect and 1 bum (like Adrian Beltre) -- which allows salary cap considerations to be preserved. Likewise, the cap should be fairly generous -- perhaps $750 (50% greater than $500).
Some people had good ideas on this on the message board but I forgot what they posted. I think the salary cap is the primary problem that needs to be remedied this off-season.
